SENER provides the detailed engineering to expand the airfield at the Dublin International Airport. The expansion project includes the construction of a new, 3,100-meter runway for aircraft up to type F, rapid exit taxiways, a parallel taxiway, a visual aid system to allow for CAT-IIIB operations, electrical substations, an extended drainage network, service roads, and more.

Scope of the project:

  • Coordination of the engineering work
  • Detailed design of pavements
  • Detailed design of the work to divert/relocate/demolish the affected services
  • Detailed design of the visual aids (lights, signs, signals) and their control systems
  • Detailed design of perimeter and temporary fencing
  • Detailed design of services for the air navigation systems
  • Operational safety advice during construction
  • As-built plans and design
